IATB Presents at the China International Organizations Seminar on Synergistic Global Health Development

On August 15, the China‑International Organizations Seminar on Synergistic Global Health Development was convened during the 32nd China International Medical Instrument Exhibition and Technical Exchange Conference (the China Hospeq) held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Hosted by the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the seminar aimed to build a dialogue platform between China and major multilateral international health organizations. It sought to hear demands from all stakeholders, share Chinese and global resources, and contribute China‑developed scientific and innovative public health goods and solutions to advance global health undertakings.

Representatives from the Stop TB Partnership, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), and Save the Children Foundation attended the event. The audience consisted of health officials from the Belt and Road countries participating in the Reproductive Health Technology Training Programme, as well as experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from China’s pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

Prof. Yuhong Liu, Chair of the Innovation Alliance, was invited to the seminar and delivered a speech titled Consolidate TB Innovation, Deepen International Cooperation Globalize China’s Innovations to Advance the Global End‑TB Targets. Prof. Liu reviewed the grim global outlook of tuberculosis prevention and control, analysed practical bottlenecks restricting the global expansion of China’s innovative tuberculosis products, and systematically presented the alliance’s practical achievements in advancing the internationalization of China’s TB‑related scientific and innovative products.

Through multiple initiatives including hosting international forums, compiling English‑version TB innovation white papers, organizing joint exhibitions and satellite sessions for Chinese TB products at the Union World Conference on Lung Health, and building R&D Trackers, the innovation alliance has facilitated communication channels between domestic biomedical enterprises and international markets. It has promoted China’s innovative achievements such as novel TB IVDs and anti‑TB drugs, earning wide acclaim and strong responses. During the seminar, on behalf of the innovation alliance, Prof. Liu also held in‑depth discussions with participating domestic and foreign experts, scholars and entrepreneurs on cooperation to scale up the global promotion of new TB technologies and products.

In recent years, the Innovation Alliance has continuously deepened international R&D cooperation on tuberculosis, supporting high‑quality, accessible Chinese TB diagnostics and therapeutic technologies and products to the world. Its works have gained wide recognition from the industry at home and abroad. Going forward, leveraging academic platforms, the innovation alliance will strengthen evidence generation to contribute China’s efforts toward achieving the global End TB targets.
